OASIS WEST is held at a rural camp on Vashon Island near Seattle, Washington. Facilities are clean, modern and heated. Four to eight campers share rooms with modern bath facilities. Enjoy the tall fir trees and a beautiful vista of Puget Sound. You will need to bring your own bedding, towels, and toiletries. Camp cooks provide energy-rich home-style meals along with evening snacks. Information packets sent by email to registrants about three weeks before the start of camp, will include a map, suggested packing list, and information on the ferry schedule.
Camp Fee: $549
Camp fee includes:
- 4 nights lodging
- All meals and snacks
- All classes and special activities
- Manual and CD
A $100 deposit is required with your registration ($50 nonrefundable). Don't be disappointed, register early.
Options:
Pre-Camp
Master Class $65 – preregistration
only, limited space available. To get even
more out of our time with Cassandra, we will be holding
a pre-camp Master Level Class. This session will
meet on the Wednesday camp begins at 2:00 pm. Topics
are: Specialty Rhythms and Working
with a Class Accompanist.
This session will be offered to campers first but
available to non-campers as space permits. - Video Critique $15 - a personal, private, and gentle critique with Cassandra. Bring a short video of yourself on DVD or VHS tape, cued up. Limited spots available; sign up on your registration form.
- ODC T-Shirt Price: $20 (Pre-order cost) - there are usually extra shirts but we can't guarantee one in your size unless you pre-order. There is also a cost savings by pre-ordering your shirt. Please don’t forget to state size on registration form.
- Camp DVD: Includes demonstration of choreographies as well as the entire Hafla and other camp happenings. You receive a DVD Order form in your camper manual at camp. Order video/DVD at camp.
- Private percussion lessons: You can sign up at camp for additional percussion classes with Nicole either as a small group or individual. (Group percussion class is included with camp fee.)
Check In/Out:
- Camp begins at 4 p.m. on Wednesday with registration followed by a light evening meal.
- Opening ceremonies begin at 8 p.m.
- We conclude at 1 p.m. on Sunday after an awards brunch.
Flight Info:
Seattle/Tacoma is the airport closest to Vashon Island, which connects by ferry to Seattle, Tacoma and Southworth.
